Educational Programs
For youth and adults
Kids academies at bluegrass festivals
We host kids academies at several bluegrass festivals in southern New England.
Monthly Instructional Jam
The RIBA Instructional Jam is held the third Sunday of the month, 3:00 - 5:00 pm at the Barrington United Methodist Church, 230 Washington Rd, Barrington, RI. Each month, a different moderator works with attendees on their jamming skills. There is no cost to attend, but the hat is passed to compensate the jam leader for his/her time. We are happy to offer this jam as part of our mission to promote the playing and enjoyment of Bluegrass music. All skill levels are welcome!

Learner Loaner program
Our "Learner Loaner" program will provide a banjo, guitar, mandolin, bass, fiddle or dobro to a member or member family for six-months at a time so that they can learn the basics without having to initially purchase the instrument. If you're interested in participating, e-mail ribluegrass@gmail.com for more information.
Scholarship program
Scholarships are being offered to Rhode Island Bluegrass Alliance members who are talented and motivated students and who are attending or planning to attend college, or any member who wishes to further their bluegrass musical knowledge in any special educational programs.
